Adoption Pending is the story of George, a 2 year old staffy cross husky, who is surrendered to an adoption shelter.

George struggles to adapt to the new environment, showing signs of stress and separation anxiety. To reach the adoption stage, he must pass a behavioural test with other dogs to determine whether he needs training and treatment, while demonstrating his capability to be around other dogs.

What follows is a emotionally compelling experience into a dog's journey of finding a new home.

Director's statement

Within documentary, we focus so much attention on exploring people, forgetting about the lives of millions of other beings that live and breathe story. With Adoption Pending, the goal was to experience a journey from a dog’s point of view, capturing the emotional series of life changing moments. The idea originated from discussions with a close-friend who works at an animal shelter, we would talk about all the different dogs that would pass through with unique names and personalities, each one having its own story to tell.
